  When we first walked in at 2330hrs, we were greeted by two older gentlemen with the "this is not a party hotel". Once it was made clear that we were there indeed to sleep only, we got a room in the basement. In our room we found that the air conditioning unit had not been cleaned in a very long time. It looked like it started to grow mold. When we did the usual bed inspection for unwanted friends, we found mouse droppings between the mattresses. We left before breakfast was served so I cannot comment on that. The one gentleman from the night shift did help us find a better route to the Cabot Trails by taking the ferry which was fun. So thank you for that.

  Ate lunch here. Veggie burger very good, would recommend. Tomato soup was more like a pasta sauce. Others purchased wraps which were tasty but coleslaw was not well balanced (too acidic). Overall the meal was fine and the interior decor was very warm and inviting.

  The restaurant is run by the owner / chef of the highly rated Governor's Restaurant. Similar menu items. Great food. Being located in a hotel means breakfasts are extremely. But lunch is quiet. A great spot for food and conversation!

  Very nice hotel - friendly staff, clean rooms, very comfortable beds and a free breakfast. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your travels bring you to Sydney Nova Scotia.

  Went in for drinks and a bite with a friend. Service and food were both great. Definitely going back.
